Lifted Up & a New Freebie!

We've been open for 1 week today -- hooray! I know, I know -- what a minor anniversary to celebrate, right? But I am just so excited to be sharing digis with you again, that every day is exciting to me! :-)

For today's inspiration, here is a lovely card that was made by Stephanie Wright. She used the "Lifted Up" set. This was previously a single image set, but I've added a couple of new images as well as some new sentiments to give you more choices in your crafting (always a good thing). I love how colorful and cheery Stephanie's card is! The windy sky scene that she created using a dry embossing folder is so perfect with the images, and she also paper-pieced the kite, right down to the little bows -- wow! I feel like I'm soaring along with the little kite every time I look at this card!

I also have a new freebie to share with you today. I was watching my darling kitties play out in the yard the other day, and realized I didn't have any kitty digis in my collection. So here is one for you to play with, and I hope to be adding more to the store soon. To download this digi, first click on it to enlarge it to full-size. Then right-click on it with your mouse, and select "Save As..." or "Save Image As..." from the menu that pops up.

Please remember that this digi, although a "freebie," is subject to our Terms of Use, which includes not sharing it except as part of finished projects. If there is someone who you think would like to have this, please send them here to get it, OK? Thanks so much for respecting my work,  and have fun crafting. Please do share what you make with this. You make my job so much more exciting than it already is when you share what you make with the digis! :-)

Some Beautiful Bugs

Fall has been on my mind this week, and so of course, summer has reemerged! Actually, I think it would be fair to say that, for us, summer has finally shown up. We had temps in the high 60s/low 70s all summer, and now that the kids have returned to school, it has soared into the 90s. Go figure! :-) Since the weather is on the summery side today, I thought I'd share a couple of  cards that are, too. Both cards feature bugs, and aside from sunshine, I can't think of anything I associate more with summer -- LOL!

This first card was made by Paula Bloom using the Bee-lieve set. This is one of our older digi sets, to which I've added colored images and printable papers. Paula used all three of the papers from this set on her card. I love how she popped up parts of the image. It really brings the image to life, and I swear I can hear those bees buzzing!!

This sweet card was made by Sandy Domelle, and features the butterfly image from the Caity Caterpillar set. This is a new image that I added to an older set. I figured it was time that Caity finally got her wings, don't you agree? Sandy did such a beautiful job of bringing Caity to life, complete with jeweled wings. Those were definitely worth the wait, I think!

I'll be back with more to share tomorrow. Whatever your weather is like today, I hope you're having a good day, and finding some time for crafting! :-)

Teacher's Pet

It's that time of year again -- back-to-school! I don't know about for you, but for me, this is always such an exciting time. Though my children are growing, and we are well past the crayons and lunchboxes phase, it's still so fun to shop with them for new supplies, help them get settled into the routines of their classes, and get involved with their classrooms and teachers. Not only that, but it gives me -- and you! -- an excuse to craft fun, back-to-school-themed cards and projects. I love to celebrate this part of my children's life with scrapbook pages, and to appreciate their teachers as often as possible with little cards and gifts -- both the kids and the teachers deserve it for all of their hard work!

Our Design Team member Lori Finch has started her back-to-school crafting. For today's cards, she used the pre-colored images and sentiments from our "Teacher's Pet" set. Her fishy card also features one of the printable papers included in the set. Aren't Lori's cards just darling?  They've certainly inspired me, and I hope they do you! :-)
