Happy Anniversary & Challenge Sponsorship

This week we are excited to be sponsoring at the "Addicted to CAS" challenge blog. They are celebrating their one-year anniversary with an "anniversary" challenge theme -- how fun! Stop by over there and play along this week for a chance to win some of our digis.

Speaking of anniversaries, I have an anniversary card to share today, although it is not "CAS." This was made using the bouquet image and one of the greetings from the "Now and Forever" set. I was trying to get a bit of a vintage feel to this card, so I decorated with lots of little pearls, and colored the image with kind of muted colors, which is pretty unusual for me -- LOL! There is something about weddings, though, that makes my mind go to soft, vintage colors, even though my own wedding colors were pretty vibrant. How about you -- what kinds of colors come to mind when you think "wedding" and "anniversary?"

Turkey Day

Do you celebrate Thanksgiving? It is one of my family's most cherished holidays. Although we are thankful every day for our blessings, it is also nice to have a day that is dedicated to it, and to have a built-in "excuse" to gather with family and friends, don't you think? Like most Americans, our celebration menu includes turkey. Of course, in my imagination, I can't help but wonder how it would be if the poor turkey were a guest instead of the meal. What do you think -- would that be fun? ;-)

Here's a little card today by designer Lori Finch, made with the "Turkey Day" set, where the turkey is indeed the guest of honor. Lori's festive papers, and the fun way that she accented the image piece with that little clothespin, really make the turkey shine out. Hmm...wonder what kind of pie he has brought to share?

Challenge Inspiration

Here is a little inspiration using the November Digi of the Month, "Daniel's Tree."  Designer Melissa Craig, our resident digital scrapbooker, made a very sweet page of her children at the Christmas tree farm, with little Daniel Duck as an accent. Isn't this page precious? I always enjoy seeing Melissa's beautiful pages, and how she takes such care in preserving her family memories!

Our November "Digi of the Month" challenge is running thru 1 December 2013. Click on the "Challenges" link above to see the details, and find out how you can get next month's digi for FREE. Hope you'll join us! :-)

Christmas Tags

Do you make special tags for the Christmas gifts you give? They are such a simple way to add a little pizazz and an extra personal touch to your holiday gift-giving. Today I have some wonderful Christmas tag inspiration to share with you, courtesy of designer Cynthia Margaron.

For this first tag, Cynthia used the "Meowy Christmas" set. Isn't that Christmas tree ribbon the perfect accent?

Here's a lovely set that she made using the "Beauty of the Season" set. Don't these have such a fun shape? The jeweled accents make them extra special, too.

This darling group, made with the "Gingerbread Holidays" set, is so festive! These would be perfect for home-baked goodies, I think. If you look closely, you can see that Cynthia sparkled up the edges of the tags. That is sure to make them pop right off their packages!

Well I don't know about you, but I'm ready to get started on some Christmas tags. Might just have to switch on the Christmas music and dig in to the mess that is my crafting table.  :-)

Pocket Pal Teddy

Growing up, I remember carrying all kinds of treasures around in my pockets. Rocks, leaves, feathers, bits of paper or wood...anything that caught my eye on my many walks around our yard and neighborhood. Of course, I never had a teddy in my pocket, but wouldn't it have been fun if I did?

For today's share, I have a darling card made by Carol Longacre using the "Pocket Pal Teddy" set. Carol used one of the precolored images and the red-heart-patterned digital paper from this set, then made it her own. I really like the banner style of the greeting she added, and did you notice the adorable button she placed on the pocket front? She made that using a Martha Stewart (TM) punch that she tells me does the punching and the embossing -- so sweet, and such a great way to accent a pocket!

If you like the idea of cute critters in pockets, we have several "Pocket Pals" sets in our shop for you to choose from. I know it's not practical to carry a teddy or a bunny or a kitten or what-not in one's pocket, but what's the fun in practical? :-)
