Welcome our September Guest Designer!

We're trying something new this month! Well, new for us, at least. Please welcome our first-ever monthly Guest Designer, Kathy D.!

I worked with Kathy for a couple of years at Clear Dollar Stamps (a.k.a. Clearly Digi Stamps), where she was a senior member of the design team, as well as one my fellow blog tutorial writers. Kathy always came up with amazing projects that kept me inspired as a crafter. So when we decided to start featuring Guest Designers each month, Kathy was the first person whose work I wanted to showcase. I'm so thankful she agreed -- thank you, Kathy!

For her first project, Kathy created this warm and wonderful card using the daffodils image from the "Spring Blocks" set. The first thing that caught my eye in this was the fun use of textures. Kathy even printed the image on textured cardstock, adding a second popped-up layer to the foremost daffodil to give it dimension. The way she laid out the bits of striped paper remind me of wainscoting in a sunny room -- so lovely! The little orange gem accents are just the right bit of "bling" to round this out. Isn't this gorgeous?!? Kathy tells me that this card is actually part of a set of cards that she created for a friend who is recovering from surgery. She wanted her friend to have some thank-you cards that she could write out to those who helped her and her family while she was recovering. What a thoughtful idea for a gift!

You can see more of Kathy's beautiful work at her blog, Dunnitagain Designs. And of course, we'll be sharing more of her work here each Wednesday throughout the month, so stay tuned!
