Challenge Inspiration Week 2 with Faith Anderson
This week's October challenge inspiration is brought to you courtesy of our talented October Guest Designer, Faith Anderson. As you can see Faith used this month's featured set -- "Thinking Spot" -- to create a super adorable birthday card!
To make this, Faith started with the pre-colored image of the mouse sitting on the pumpkin, editing it in Photoshop before printing it. Faith has these details to share about what she did in Photoshop:
"The mouse’s face is [Deedee's] colouring with a bit of added shadow. I added a layer overlay to the added colour of the shirt after selecting it then link to the layer. I also added a layer overlay to the pumpkin, added shadows with the burn feature and highlights with the dodge feature, then fussy cut everything out and layered the layers. I’m not sure I have done it correctly, but it works for me!"
After printing the image multiple times, Faith layered it on to her card using dimensional foam so that it "pops up." Here's a close-up of the mouse, where you can see how she layered it.
Faith printed a sentiment directly on to the patterned paper, and then added a sweet mini calendar to give the card more of a birthday feel. Overall, such a darling card, and a great example of Faith's amazing "hybrid" crafting style!
There's still plenty of time to join the October challenge. For more details, please read the challenge post. To see more of Faith's wonderful work, stop back next Wednesday when she will have a new project to share here, or visit her blog, "Daffodil Cards."
