November Guest Designer: Tamara Dixon!
Please welcome our Guest Designer for the month of November -- Tamara Dixon! Tamara is a card-maker and fellow sister-in-Christ. She first came to my attention through our monthly challenges and through her gallery at Splitcoast Stampers. What I love about Tamara's crafting style is how clean and classic it is! I have seen her use a variety of techniques, including some that I know can get pretty messy -- ha ha! -- but no matter what, her cards always have such a classy look to them!
For her first share, Tamara created a super sweet card using the "Hay Ride" set. She used a gate fold for the layout, and was tickled to share with me that she managed to use all of the digital papers included in the set. On the front of the card, she layered the image of the scarecrow toting her crow friend directly on to the leaf-patterned. This really sets the Fall scene, don't you think? She then layered the leafy paper over the gingham paper, and used her "Rectangles" and "Deckled Rectangles" dies by Spellbinders to cut the image piece that holds the card closed. She added some glittery accents to parts of the image using a Sakura gel pen (falling leaves) and clear Wink of Stella (hay). Here is what the inside of the card looks like:
You can see that she used the third paper -- a "hay" pattern -- here, and again, layered the pre-colored image plus one of the sentiments from this same set directly on to the paper before printing. The result is a darling, uplifting card that is perfect for Fall! Looking at this card sure gives me a lift -- how about you? :-)
We'll be back with another share from Tamara next Wednesday, so stay tuned. In the meantime, for more inspiration, please visit her personal gallery at Splitcoast Stampers. She has some amazing cards in there for you to peek at!
