Ornamental (Icy) with Tamara Dixon

Happy Friday! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The month of November is quickly drawing to an end, and with it, our time of having the talented Tamara Dixon as our Guest Designer. For today's post, Tamara created a glorious card using the "Ornamental Icy" set. For the front of the card, she layered the patterned papers from this set with white cardstock by Bazzill and glittered cardstock by DCWV. The metallic cardstock makes the blues in the papers stand out so well, and gives this a rich and elegant feel! Tamara shaped the image piece using circle dies by Spellbinders, and then sponged some Memento London Fog ink around the ornament to make it stand out. Some silver Wink of Stella along with carefully-placed rhinestones were added to give the ornament dimension and sparkle. Tamara then added a darling bow to the top of the ornament to bring it to life. To create this little bow, she took a piece of cream-colored ribbon by Really Reasonable Ribbon and dyed it using "Tumbled Glass" by Tim Holtz so that it would match the other blues in this card. Talk about detailed work! Here's a close-up of the ornament. Isn't this elegant?!? I wish that I had one for my Christmas tree!

As beautiful as the front of the card is, check out the inside!!! This is what is called a double tri-shutter card, and Tamara says that this is only her second attempt at making one. My goodness, this is amazing, don't you think? Whoever receives this beauty is blessed indeed!

Now I mentioned that our time with Tamara as our Guest Designer is coming to a close. But guess what? She has graciously agreed to join our team as a permanent member! What a blessing. :-) I look forward to being able to share more of her work with you in the months to come. If you just can't wait to see more of Tamara's designs, please do visit her gallery at Splitcoast Stampers. Thanks so much, Tamara, for a wonderful month of inspiration!!!
