Design Team Call Reminder

Happy Saturday! Just wanted to share a quick reminder that we are having a Design Team Call, for the June thru October term. We are looking to add a few new designers to our team who love Deedee's Digis and want to help spread the word about them. The deadline to apply is 26 May. You can read the full details of the position and how to apply HERE, or by clicking on the "DT Call" link at the top of the page. Enjoy your weekend! :-)

When Flowers Bloom

Do you ever wonder why we send flowers to lift someone's spirits? As a child, I was forever pestering my mom with questions about things like that. She rarely knew the answers, always telling me to, "Look it up." Of course, back then, "look it up" meant a trip to the library and searching through card catalogues for books that might contain the answers, so I usually just moved on to something else -- ha ha! As an adult, I've come to think that we give flowers because the sight of those beautiful blooms reminds us of how life is continuously renewed around us in the world, despite hardships. As the saying goes, "When flowers bloom, so does hope."

Today we have a beautiful card by designer Kren Kurts celebrating this idea. Kren used an old, retired basket stamp from her collection, and then layered in a variety of blooms from the "Bloom and Grow" set. This is such an amazing bouquet she has created! I love the way she crafted the greeting piece, too, with the double length of twine linked through the holes of the tag. I sure would feel blessed to get a basket of love like this -- how about you?

Friends Forever

The best kind of friends are the "forever" friends -- the ones who stick by you, no matter what! For today's share, we have a darling card by designer Lynn Hayes, celebrating exactly this kind of friendship. Lynn printed an image from the "Rainy Day" set directly on her card base. She added sweet little touches that really bring this CAS (clean and simple) style card to life! Look at how she pieced Daniel Duck's umbrella -- so sweet! The narrow strips of colorful papers along with the button and twine really finish this so nicely. Do you have a "forever" friend in your life? Why not reach out to them today with a little card to tell them how much they mean to you? :-)

Beachy Keen & Sponsoring at Tuesday Morning Sketches

Last week we had some very summer-like weather here in Northern California, with temps in the mid-90s! It's back down to the low 70s this week, true to our Spring weather, but the heat wave had me longing for the beach! So here's a little card that I made to celebrate the beach, and the hot summery weather, even though I couldn't actually go. The image and greeting are from the "Such a Crab" set, colored with Copic markers. If you're a challenge player, you may recognize the layout that I used for this -- it's this week's sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. We are sponsoring there this week, so if you have some time and love a good sketch, stop by and play -- you might just win some digis! :-)

Challenge Inspiration Week 2

Happy Monday! We're moving into week 2 of our current Digi of the Month Challenge. So here's some new inspiration, brought to you by designer Carol Longacre. Carol did a beautiful job with this month's featured set, "Not a Tie." I really like how she glittered up both Bonsai's tie and his gift bag. The repeating chevron textures in the ribbon and embossed background coordinate so well with the shapes of her greeting tags, too.

So what will you make with this set? We can't wait to see! Remember, if you share your creation made with this set by Sunday, 1 June, you'll receive next month's featured set for FREE! :-)
