Happy Birthday

Every day is somebody's birthday. I never can quite wrap my mind around that thought, but the proverbial "they" say it's true! If today is your special day, happy birthday!

For today's share we have a darling birthday card made by Rhonda Miller. Rhonda used elements from the "Triple Scoop" set to make this. I love how she colored the octopus, and the colors of her papers are so cheery, and would work for either a boy (man) or girl (woman)! The little metal accents around the "Happy Birthday" sentiment are just the right amount of "something" to finish this off. Super cute, and guaranteed to make somebody's birthday extra special!

Back to School?!?

It's one of my favorite times of year -- Back-to-School! Can you believe it?!? Although growing up we never returned to school from summer break until after Labor Day, here in Northern California the kids now return mid-August. How about yours? This year is going to really be an adventure for our family, as for the first time ever, our girls will be at separate schools. Tonight our older daughter has her High School orientation, and then the fun begins. Bring it on! :-)

Clearly I'm not the only one who has "back-to-school" on the brain, as I've seen a surge of school-themed projects from our designers. So how about we share some today?

This first card was made by Carol Longacre, using elements from the new "High School Daze" set. Carol laid this out in such a playful way, and the "binder paper" makes a fantastic backdrop! The little ruler and glue embellishments are super cute, and tie this all together so neatly. It's everything you need for school, all in one adorable card!

Here's another fun one by Judith Wright, made with the new "School or Bust" set. Doesn't the "cloud" of sentiments and doodles that Judith added to this make you feel like you're back in school? It sure does me! Every notebook I ever owned looked like this -- what a fun memory Judith has inspired!

Whether you or your kids or grandkids start this month or next, we wish everyone a happy, successful back-to-school!!!

A Goodbye, a Hello, Some Inspiration, & Our First Winner!

Happy Monday! We've got a lot to share with you today!

First off, we are saying, "happy trails," today to designer Cynthia Margaron. We are sad that she is moving on, and will miss seeing her beautiful projects, but wish her well with future endeavors.

But today is not just about goodbyes -- it's also about hellos! Please welcome our newest designer, Gail Scott! Gail is an active challenge participant, so no doubt you have seen her lovely cards and tags around blogland. She is also a fellow sister in Christ, and we are very blessed to have her joining our team. Welcome, Gail!

Now, Monday is our usual "challenge inspiration" day, and we've definitely got some of that for you, too. But before we share the fabulous creations our designers have made to inspire you, we have a winner to announce! As explained last week at the start of the August challenge, we are celebrating our 1st Anniversary of being back in business this month. As part of our celebration, each week we will draw one random winner from this month's challenge participants who will receive their choice of any one set from our shop.  So our first weekly winner is...

#8 -- Alison B.!

Congratulations, Alison! Please email Deedee at with your choice of any one set from our shop, and she will get it to you ASAP.

If you played along last week and didn't win, there are still several more chances! :-) We'll be choosing a winner at the end of each challenge week, as well as a Grand Prize winner at the end of the month. You can even enter more than once, as long as each entry is part of a separate blog or gallery post. So keep those challenge creations coming!

And now --  finally! -- some fresh inspiration for our challenge players this week! This first card is by Zella Turley. Zella used the outline image of the monkeys in the barrel from this month's featured set -- "Monkey Business" -- to create this, bringing it to life with her own coloring. Isn't the wood texture in the background fantastic? And how about that pom-pom rick-rack she added? Super cute, Zella!

This little darling was made by NanaConnie. NanaConnie used the pre-colored image, along with a sweet layout to make this birthday card. This card has such a lovely "fresh" feel to it, with the use of all the white and just the little bits of aqua accents. Beautiful, NanaConnie!

Now you know the drill -- it's your turn to share your challenge creations! If you didn't earn this set by playing along last month, you can still join in for FREE this month. Click HERE to find out how! :-)
