Are you all ready for Fall? The calendar says we've got a month left still of Summer, but here in California, at least, the seasons seem to be running ahead of schedule. Fall is my favorite time of year, for so many reasons, not the least of which is all the fun activities associated with it, like hayrides!
For today's share, we have a delightful hayride-themed card made by Mary H. ("Carolina Cards"). Mary used the new "Hayride" set to create this. Look at that lucky little crow! How fabulous to have a friend like this sweet scarecrow to give him a lift! Mary set the backdrop for this scene using the leafy paper from the set, accenting with a little of the gingham print. The inky spongeing she did around the edges of the image and sentiment pieces give them a wonderful weathered look that speaks so perfectly of Fall.
Ah, Fall...I can't wait! How about you? :-)

I have always been a reader. I especially love to read about history. I know that many people feel history is boring, but to me it's just about people, and people, I think, are always interesting. Their actions and motivations...characteristics and cultures...well, who needs "reality" TV when there are so many amazing stories about real people to be read?!? One of my favorite histories to read, of course, is that of Jesus Christ. Whether or not you are Christian, I highly recommend picking up the Bible and reading about Him sometime, as His life was incredibly fascinating. In my mind, the story of His life is the greatest story ever told, and best of all, it's true!
The true story of Jesus Christ was my inspiration in creating "The Story" digi set, and the basis of today's share by our newest designer, Gail Scott. Gail put so much into this, and I love the combination of rustic and royal elements that she used. It fits so well with the dichotomy of who Jesus was: the son of God -- the King of Kings -- and yet, a man, and one of humble birth and means at that. Truly an amazing card in honor of the most amazing man! :-)

It's that time of the week! Time for some fresh inspiration for our challenge winners, AND time to choose another weekly winner for our month-long Anniversary celebration! First...the inspiration!
Today's share using the August Digi of the Month -- "Monkey Business" -- was made by Lynn Hayes. This is such a fun little card! At first glance, it seems "clean and simple," but the more you look at it, the more of the special details that Lynn put into this you will see. The playful way the image piece is placed off-center from its matte...the paper piercing around the matte...the stitching along the edges of the background paper...the clever shape of the greeting piece. A delightful card indeed!
If you haven't joined in this month's challenge yet, there is still plenty of time. Don't forget that this month's challenge is a FREE-FOR-ALL, too -- meaning that you can get one of the images from this month's set for free and join in the fun. If you make something with it, and link it up to our challenge post before the challenge deadline, you will get next month's set for free!
And now, it's time to announce this week's winner of one set of their choice from our shop! Congratulations to...
#16 -- Tamara D.!
Woo-hoo for Tamara! Tamara, please contact Deedee at firstname.lastname@example.org to claim your set!
