Dancing in the Rain and a Challenge!!

Sometimes while in the midst of a storm we tend to see all the bad that is happening. Which is easy to do when you can hardly breath before the next rain comes. But what would happen if in the storm we looked for the good that is happening? Sometimes it is just changing your prospective....instead of being miserable in the rain...splash around....get dirty!! I sent a text message to a friend this week that is going through several rain storms...one right after another. I asked her how she was doing that day and her response was "I'm tired of being negative so I'm not going to answer that question!" Which made us both laugh. She knew she needed a new prospective because the rain was going to keep falling and it wasn't helping by being negative about it. So when Donna sent me this card for her post I knew right away that is was perfect for letting people know that there will be storms, but when you give your troubles to God you CAN dance in the rain because he is carrying your burden.

Donna knew this sentiment was important because she made it the focal point of her card. She also designed it around spring with all the rain and beautiful flowers popping up everywhere. I love how the bear is pointing to the beautifully framed sentiment. If you want more details please visit her blog: Indiana Inking.

Donna told me that she was going to make a different card this week but it didn't work out so she went with this. I'm thinking God is pretty awesome to send us this reminder and to even put it on a craft site so we will see it!

I'm not sure if Donna had anyone in mind when she made this card but I have a challenge for you!! Send out a card in the next week to a friend, family member, stranger, college student, etc..anyone you think could use a smile in their mailbox. Come back and leave a comment telling us about your card (and link to card if you want). I will pick one random person from the comments (that sent a card) and you will get surprise prize!! I will post the winner next Wednesday in the Guest DT post.

I hope in the midst of your week that you will see the "beauty" in the storm. Just remember the rainbow will come because God promised us.

  1. This is the perfect sentiment for someone who needs a smile. This is not for your challenge, Kathy, but I did want to tell you this. I just sent a card to someone last week (using Deedee's Great Joy set) and she was thrilled with it. It is amazing how much one little card means to people. I think Donna did a fantastic job with this card.

    1. Donna - Thanks for sharing your story! I remember that card and it was beautiful.
Isn't it nice to know our love of playing with paper brought a smile to someone's face?!
      Have a blessed day.

    2. Mary, thank you for the compliment! So appreciate your comment. I am glad that your friend liked the card. It's amazing what can happen with some paper and a stamp.

  2. I'm so crazy about your idea of sending a card to someone 'just because' that I popped one in the mailbox to a friend who always thinks about other people and their needs. I just wanted to give her a "thanks" and a pat on the back. Obviously, I'm not entering your challenge but I did love the idea. :-D NC

  3. I guess my comment didn't go through. I was saying I think it is always a great idea to send out cards because with email and texts I don't think we send out cards enough. I just sent out a card to a lady I worked with that had to quit because of Parkinson's Disease and I miss her a lot. She is always thinking of others and I wanted her to know I was thinking of her. Great idea, Sarah W

    1. Thanks so much Sarah for taking part in the challenge. I know your friend will love the fact that you reached out to her and she is not forgotten just because she doesn't work with you anymore. I know she will smile ear to ear when she sees a handmade card in her mailbox. Hope you have a blessed week!
