In papercrafting, "clean and simple" is sometimes the best -- although not always the easiest! -- way to go. And "clean and simple" is exactly what the team at Addicted to Stamps and More would love to see on your projects this week. If you're not familiar with the term "Clean and Simple," it refers to projects that focus more on the design itself than on layers of papers or embellishments. For me, "clean and simple" can be challenging. When I first started making cards, what I made always followed this style. There just weren't a lot of options available for embellishments and papers at that time. But in the last 15 years, the market has been flooded with choices, and that can make it difficult at times to choose what to add to a card! Still, when free time to craft is of a premium, clean and simple wins -- hands-down -- every time! So now, with that in mind, here is what I came up with for this challenge.
I used elements from a couple different digi sets to make this. The tag outline is from the "Doodle Tags" set. The pattern on the tag is a paper from the "Seashells" set, as are the sand dollar image and the sentiment. I inked the edges of the white card base, and tore and inked the sentiment, too, to give this a bit more rustic look. The sentiment and sand dollar are "popped up" with foam dimensional tape. I thought the button had a bit of a seashell look to it, which was fun. Again, the focus here was on the design of the card, and not on the layers of paper or embellishments.
We would love to see what "clean and simple" inspirations you have to share this week. Whatever you make, don't forget to link it up over at Addicted to Stamps and More for a chance to win some of our digis! :-)
