Best Teacher Ever (Scrapbook Saturday)

Where would we be without great teachers? Our children spend the bulk of their weekday hours in the care of their teachers, so it is such a blessing when those teachers give not only their time but their total devotion to educating, challenging, and inspiring them. When I think about all the things that a great teacher does just in the course of a single day, let alone a whole school year, I am truly astounded!

For today's "Scrapbook Saturday" share, designer Melissa Craig created a darling page to celebrate one such fabulous teacher. Melissa used elements from the "Coffee Cup Greetings" set (HERE for European Union residents and HERE for non-EU residents) to create this sweet layout. Don't you just love the soft look that the rounded corners give to the whole page? The pink, oval matte behind the coffee cup makes it stand out, and that pretty, white-patterned, lacy photo frame gives a little extra feminine feel to the layout. It also helps that precious picture of smiling, happy teacher and student to stand out. The sentiment on the coffee cup is Melissa's own -- "Best Teacher Ever!" Can you imagine how honored a teacher would feel to get a gift like this, or just to know that they had a place of honor in a child's scrapbook? :-)

Cow Are You with Sarah Taylor

Do you have a pun-loving friend to whom you want or need to reach out? If so, our "Cow Are You" set (available HERE for European Union crafters or HERE for non-EU crafters) might be the one for you. This set is full of silly puns for many different occasions. And check out this fabulous sample made with this set by our January Guest Designer, Sarah Taylor!

Sarah used a fun combination of red, black, and white patterned papers and ribbons to create this card. She colored the baby calf image from this set to coordinate. Look at that little red-haired cutie she created! As always, Sarah's coloring is superb, and the various patterned elements she used, combined with the darling cow image, make for a visually stunning card. If that weren't fun enough, though, Sarah also made a little "shaker" feature on the front of the card using microbeads. So this card is not only fun to look at, but to play with as well. Who wouldn't want to get a card like this?

You can view more of Sarah's marvelous projects at her blog -- "Aunt Bee's Pickles." We'll also be sharing one last project by her here next Wednesday, so don't miss out!

Digi of the Month 3rd week Inspiration (FREEBIE ALERT)

Hello, crafty friends! This is your weekly reminder about and inspiration for our monthly challenge. This month we are offering the featured set -- "Ice Fishing" -- totally FREE to anyone who wants to download it from the shop. This is a great chance to join in our challenges.

Why join in our challenges? Well, every month we email the featured set to everyone who participated the previous month. So you get to collect quite a few free digis this way, just by making one project each month. Each month's set is different -- some include one image, some two or more. Some include papers, some don't. But they are always FREE to the previous month's participants! We also offer occasional twists such as prizes to be won, adding to the fun. This month, for example, we're offering a $10 gift code to the shop to anyone who participates, along with entry into an end-of-the-challenge drawing for a $50 gift code. So like I said, this is a great time to join in! :-)

Now some of our teamies made some samples to inspire you. We hope to be seeing what you make with this set soon, too!
