I sure hope Spring is coming soon because snow in March is no fun! I can't wait to hear the birds chirping and the lawn guy mowing our grass (that means I don't have to do it!!) So I guess for now we will just craft "spring" projects with Allsorts Challenge Blog until the "real" Spring decides to arrive. Come play with us and get in the mood for Spring!
Hi all! Deedee here. We've had so many fun challenges that we're sponsoring lately that it can be tough to get a post in here edge-wise -- ha ha! I just wanted to share a couple of fun bits of news.
First, a special thank you for the out-pouring of support and prayers for my family over the last couple of weeks. We're in the midst of a health crisis with our oldest daughter, but are working through it, and it's just going to take some time. Customer Service has re-opened at the shop, and I am again able to answer emails and what-not, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you have a question or need!
Second, we have a new Design Team member joining us this week. Please welcome Pippa Price! Pippa was our Guest Designer for December, and we know you'll enjoy being inspired by her fabulous projects in the months to come. Welcome, Pippa!
Next, Zella Turley has joined our Administration team as Guest Designer Coordinator. Zella has such a sweet, helpful spirit, and I'm very appreciative that she has agreed to help in this role. I look forward to "meeting" the Guest Designers that she chooses for us in the coming post, and seeing their wonderful work in her posts. Thank you, Zella!
Finally, I wanted to share a few new sets that were added to the shop this week for your Spring and Easter crafting delight. Others have been added over the last couple weeks, so if you haven't visited lately, please do stop in to have a peek! :-)
Deedee set up to have Donna Rinckel - Indiana Inking Blog be our Guest Designer for March. I thought I recognized that name from seeing it in challenges but wasn't sure until I went to her blog. Then I remembered because I love her style...simple but with a punch of "wow!" Then she sent me this card and I literally said "wow" as I looked at it!! I'm not sure that is how she would describe her work but that is how I describe it. :)
She made this card for her son's upcoming wedding in May. Their colors are blue and yellow so she made a distress inked background with Salty Ocean, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers. Okay, is that not a WOW background. Maybe I'm jealous because I'm afraid of inks but I love this look! (Hmmm...maybe I can get her to mail me a whole bunch of inked backgrounds!!) Then she fussy cut the hearts out and adds it to the side of the die cut to make it all flow together. Get this...it is also a SHAKER Card....WOW!!! Just beautifully done and all with simple touches....WOW!!
So now that we have been "wow" over her work let's get to know her a little!
She lives in Bloomington, Indiana
with her very supportive husband, Tom. They have three children who are all grown
and out on their own but no grandchildren just yet. She and Tom love to be outdoors and hike a lot in good weather.
She was introduced to stamping in 2007 by a close friend and
the rest is history! Her mother sent cards to everyone so after her mother passed away, she thought it would be nice to
continue the tradition. Instead of store bought cards she makes handmade cards to send out to family and friends. Now her friends and family as her to make them homemade cards so they can send them out to their family and friends. So she makes card packages and gives them as Christmas gifts!
She is not just limited to card making because she love all kinds of paper crafting and will try just about
anything once. LOL! She also enjoys crocheting, cross stitch and reading. There are lots of crafty things on her bucket list with a couple of them being...to learn to knit, do origami and quilling when she retires.
If you want the exact details of what she used on her card or to see more of her awesome work check out her blog - Indiana Inking.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge blog is having a celebration because today marks the 300th challenge they have posted on their blog!! Woooowhooooo!! We decided to play along and sponsor them with a $25.00 gift code to the store!! Deedee's prize will be part of the Color Challenge so you will definitely want to play in that one! You REALLY have to check out the prizes...AMAZING. One person will win ALL the prizes listed for that challenge. I'm not sure I could use all of the prize if I won it!! There are 3 different challenges that will be posted this week:
How it works is you make a card based on the inspiration. Doesn't have to be a birthday or a cupcake....today's inspiration was "sparkle" so I added "sparkle" to snowflakes to make a Christmas Card. I had never played in this challenge before and I'm so glad they found us and we are sponsoring them!!
You have until the 14th to enter the 3 challenges. You can enter one, two or all three challenges. You have the inspiration early for the next two challenges so I hope you get to play....at least in the Color challenge!!
This week we are pretty full with sponsorships so come back each day (and sometimes twice) for inspirations and details about where you can enter your creations to try to win Gift Codes to the store!
First up is Sparkles Christmas Challenge #50 - Make it Green - your creation must be mostly the color Green and Christmas. Color challenges can be easy or hard for some people. What usually happens to me is if you tell me I can only use that color then I want to use other colors. (Just like when our parents told us not to touch something...we had to touch it!) This came to together pretty easy and I was thankful for that. I used a pre-colored image with green already in it...since I knew my time was limited and I'm not great at coloring. (I wish I could color like some of you ladies....you really make an image come alive!) I did sneak in a little red but I think it will still qualify for "mostly green".
This is a MONTH LONG CHALLENGE so you have plenty of time to play and the prize is a $25.00 gift code to the store. So that should help entice you to play along....and if that doesn't how about if you use a Deedee's Digi, let me know and I will feature your project in the mid-month reminder for the challenge (around the 15th)! Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
