Getting Jingly with the Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge (FREEBIE!)

How far in advance do you craft your Christmas cards? 12 months? 6 months? 1 week? ;-) Well this week we have some extra incentive for you to get at least a few of them made in advance. For the next two weeks, we're sponsoring the challenge at the Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge. This is an extra special honor for us, as they don't normally have sponsors. So a very special thank you goes out to the Jingle Belles for including us this week!!! Since this is such an honor, we thought we'd celebrate with a new Christmas FREEBIE in our shop.

You can get "Jingle All the Way" featuring Oscar the Cat and his little friend Felix for FREE in our shop thru Thursday, 21 May.

The theme for this challenge is simply to use a Christmas-themed digi on your project. So snag the new set from our shop, make a card, and don't forget to link it up over at the Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge for a chance to win more digis from our shop. Fun!!!

It seems my team mates are always diligently working on their Christmas cards, much to my -- and hopefully your -- great appreciation! Here are some of the beauties that they came up with for this particular challenge. Each of them used elements from the new freebie set.

Celebrate Your Inner Child!

Everybody, no matter how old, has an inner child. You know what I'm talking about, right? That part of you that can't resist running after the seagulls on the beach, giggling at goofy knock-knock jokes, or occasionally eating dessert for breakfast? OK, maybe that's just how my inner child behaves, but you get the gist, right? This week, we are sponsoring the challenge at the Crafter's Cafe which is to make something to represent or celebrate the inner child. How fun! As adults, we get so serious about the business of living, and it's nice to have an excuse to let that inner child out here and there.

Here's what I came up with, using the "Triple Scoop" set. In case you can't read it in the photo, the sentiment is, "Tomorrow we can eat broccoli. Today is for ice cream!" You can find this digi set, including the silly sentiment, in our shop here for non-EU residents OR here for EU residents.

So now, if you were to make a card representing your inner child, what would it be about? Give it some thought, and if you do make one, be sure to link it up over at the Crafter's Cafe this week for a chance to win some of our digis!

May Sponsor at Outlawz Sketch Challenge

If you're a card sketch lover, be sure to visit the Outlawz Sketch Challenge this month! We are happily sponsoring throughout the month, and there will be a new sketch to play with each Wednesday. That's four different chances to play and be entered at the end of the month to win a $25 gift code to our shop! Also, this month they are are offering an optional twist to make BABY cards! One of their team members is expecting a new little one soon (how exciting!!!), and they would love your help in celebrating. If you follow not only the sketch for whichever week(s) you play along, you'll also be entered to win a bouncing baby $5 gift code to our shop.

If you've never heard of "Outlawz," it's a fun online paper-crafting community that offers a different challenge each day of the week. Some of the challenges have monthly sponsors, and others have weekly sponsors, so there are lots of chances to win goodies from various artists. Outlawz is a members-only community, but all paper-crafters are welcome to join, and membership is free!

Kathy and I had some fun with this week's sketch. Of course, you'll have to pop over to Outlawz to see the actual sketch, but you can get a pretty good idea from our cards. ;-)

"My Life is Blessed"

"Beautiful Lady"

In case you hadn't noticed from the list in our newsletter, May is a very busy sponsorship month for us! So please check back later today, because we'll have another fun challenge to share about. Oh, and if you didn't get our May newsletter, but would like to receive the next one, you can register for it HERE. Wishing you a very blessed day!!!

Introducing Our May Guest Designer: Deanne of "A Little Bit O' Paper"

May brings a new Guest Designer and this month we are so excited to have Deanne from A Little Bit O' Paper.  A little bit about Deanne:

My name is Deanne Clarke-Saunders. My hubby and I live in Paradise, Newfoundland Canada. I was an elementary teacher for 23 years but retired early. I am now an Early Childhood Educator (couldn’t stay away from the kiddies!!). I have always enjoyed playing with paper, scissors, glue, and ESPECIALLY crayons and pencil crayons, ever since I’ve been a small child. I just couldn’t stop playing, so I continued by scrapbooking and card-making! I love it!!! My hubby calls me a paper hoarder. He just MAY be right, but I’d never tell him that!!! A man doesn’t need to know he’s right!!! haha!
Since Deanne has so much paper we figured we better give her a chance to use some of it.  Ha-ha!!  So let's see what Deanne has created for us this week....

Deanne used a set called "Chance of Showers" which can be found here (EU Only version) or here (non-EU Residents).   This card features her favorite technique.  I asked Deanne what was her favorite technique and why....  I LOVE LOVE LOVE paper piecing, especially when I have the perfect digi, it makes the cards just POP!!! And, you will notice that I paper pieced on EVERY single card for Deedee's this month. So that tells you there that Deedee's Digis are awesome digis and so much FUN to play with!!!!

Be sure to come back next week to see what Deanne has to share with us.  And why not head over to her blog - A Little Bit O' Paper - and leave her some love.  You'll love her blog!!

Perseverance - What does that mean to you

Today we are sponsoring a challenge blog for the 1st time - Path of Positivity Challenge. Our DT member Stephanie has been playing in the challenges for some time and asked me to check it out because she thought Deedee's Digis would be a good sponsor for the challenge. So I went over and read about it and contacted Lisa about being interested in sponsoring. She had one month left and was delighted to have us. This challenge is different than most challenges so please do check it out. It doesn't matter what you create as long as it fits the theme. The theme for May is Perseverance. Of course we created cards with Deedee's Digis but several people do pages in journals, or scrapbook layouts, or even just journal entries. It is a month long challenge so you have plenty of time. We will also have mid-month inspiration on our blog and Path of Positivity Blog on May 18th.

If you want to how our projects relate to Perseverance click on the Designers name and it will take you to their personal blog.
