Happy Graduation by Joyce Johnson

I love to doodle. Um...you've probably figured that out by now, huh? But do you know what I love more? Seeing those doodles being used to make fun things!

With her permission, we have a delightful graduation card to share today. This was made by follower Joyce Johnson. It is definitely that time of year, isn't it? Joyce used the "Congratulations Graduate" set to make this (available here for non-EU residents OR here for EU residents). The classic (and classy!) color combination of red, white, and gold really stand out on her card. I love the simple elegance of the dotted texture in the background. And look at how she personalized the diploma! Beautifully made, Joyce, and thanks so much for letting us share it today!

It is such a joy when you share with us the many different ways that you use our digis to bring a little extra sunshine into your and others' days. Anytime you make something with one of our digis, please do feel free to share a link, or send us a photo at deedeesdigis@gmail.com. With your permission, we'll even share it wider with our blog followers! :-)

It's a Flower Frenzy!

To me, flowers are just so lovely, whether they are live and growing in the garden, in a sweet little vase on the kitchen counter, or recreated in paper. Are you a flower-lover, too? If so, then the theme of the fortnightly challenge at Simply Papercraft Challenges is right up your alley: "Flower Frenzy!" Stop by and show them your best blooms sometime in the next two weeks for a chance to win a $15 gift code to our shop.

I had my own little flower-making frenzy in response to this challenge. I used one of the little chick images plus a sentiment from the "Spring Chicks" set (available here for non-EU residents OR here for EU residents). This is another all-digital card (still can't get to those crafting materials due to house construction!), and a variety of digital punches by Stampin' Up! helped me to create the floral border and "die" behind the image.

So, what kind of "floral frenzy" will you create? We'd love to see!

May Sketch Challenge #3 at Outlawz!

Have you been playing along with the sketch challenges this month over at Outlawz? This week they have another fantastic sketch on offer for your crafting pleasure! Stop over and take a peek, and don't forget to join in the fun -- it could mean some prize digis from our shop for you!

Look at this beauty that Faith Anderson created based on this week's sketch. She used an image from the "Grown with Love" set, along with a cheery combination of patterned papers, and bright, Spring colors! Everything about this says, "LIFE!" How about that bow she made -- isn't it wonderful? I especially like the pearl in the center. It's such an pretty finishing touch, and ties in beautifully with the flower centers on the darling, floral border strip.

I went all-digital this week. Our house has been "under construction" so I haven't been able to get to my hand-crafting materials. But that's the fun thing about digis, isn't it? There's more than one way to use them! I used the pre-colored radio image and a sentiment from the new "Vintage Media" set. Since I had a more masculine card in mind, I didn't add a bow, but used that area of the sketch for my sentiment instead.

You can see many more projects made with this week's sketch over at the Outlawz Sketch challenge. I always love the projects that their DT make, but this week, they are especially precious. Remember, we're offering a $25 gift code prize to one monthly winner, PLUS, if you make a project that features this month's twist of a "Baby" theme, you could win a baby $5 gift code.

Enjoy your evening -- Friday is almost here! :-)

Photo Inspiration at Addicted to Stamps and More

Happy Thursday! Do you need some inspiration for your crafting today? Check out the photo inspiration offered over at the Addicted to Stamps and More challenge blog!

Here's what our own Faith Anderson was inspired to create based on the photo. Isn't this sweet? Faith incorporated the bird theme of the inspiration photo, as well as the dramatic color scheme. The way she colored the owls, especially, makes them stand out so beautifully. Love it! Faith used the image and a sentiment from the "Under Your Wing" set, which you can find in our shop here if you are a non-EU resident OR here if you are a EU resident.

Not only is the photo offered at Addicted to Stamps and More this week very inspirational, but crafting something based on it, and linking it up there, could win you a $15 gift code to our shop. So have at it, and don't forget to have fun!!!

A Little Something.....

As promised - Deanne, our May Guest Designer, has a little something just for you today:

Once again Deanne has used her favorite technique of paper piecing.  She's so talented!!!  Once again she has added those special touches such as stitching and a die cut edge.  Deanne used "Chance of Showers" which can be found HERE (non-EU Residents) and HERE (EU Residents ONLY).

Deanne shared how her style has changed since her first card she made and now:  --I use digis now. When I started making cards I used my rubber stamps. I rarely take them out now!! They are feeling neglected :O(

Of course here at Deedee's Digis we are THRILLED she's using digis!  :)  Be sure to stop by Deanne's blog - A Little Bit O' Paper - and leave her some love.  Also browse around a bit - you'll see some lovely work!  Come back next week and see what Deanne has planned for us...it's going to be simply YUMMY!

No patterned paper

Can you make a card with no patterned paper? That is the challenge this week at Fan-Tastic Tuesday where your cards must be Square or Rectangle and include the twist!

I actually probably do equal amount of cards with and without patterned paper. It all depends on the image or feel to the card. But my cards are simple compared to the work that went into Mary H.'s card that contains no patterned paper....

Do you see that grass...amazing! She did it with "just flicking the blade strokes" of her Copic markers. She also made the background paper too! No patterned paper here and it's a masterpiece.

So mine uses Deedee's images as the star of the card! I used Kraft paper to give it the feel of the dirt on a baseball field. This card started with last weeks sketch at the Wedensday Outlawz Sketch Challenge.

Hope you will come join us for a chance at a $15.00 gift code to Deedee's Digis.
Have you seen the newest releases just in time for Father's Day?

Happy Crafting!

Are you persevering with your crafts?

This month the challenge at Path of Positivity is Perseverance. However you want to represent Perseverance they want to see it....journal, art page, scrapbook page, cards, pottery, etc. This was the first time for Deedee's Digis to sponsor this challenge and I sure have enjoyed seeing how the DT members took on this challenge. None of us had played in this challenge before except for Stephanie so Pippa, Faith, Carol and I have been pushed in our creativity....and we all have persevered!!

and

WOW! Everything about these cards represent her take on Perseverance...even down to the clear card bases! You really need to go read her post (just click on her name).

I didn't know a caterpillar could be so pretty!! I love how she placed the encouraging sentiment in the vine.

CAS perfection! I love how she shows that never giving up will result in growth.

It has been fun creating with a purpose in mind. Sometimes it is just fun to create for fun and sometimes it is fun to push ourselves. I hope you will persevere and try your hand at this different type of challenge.

Digi of the Month Reminder

We are in the middle of the month so if you haven't made up your card for the Digi of the Month Challenge now is the time to start getting serious! You have 2 weeks left since the challenge will run to May 31st.

This month we're featuring "Dad's Day Off" (available here for Non-EU residents or here for EU residents).

That plaid is perfect for a masculine card. I love brads so of course I like the added brads and matching ribbon. An extra touch but still masculine.

Remember, you have until May 31 to share your own creation made with this set and link it up to the challenge post in order to receive next month's featured set for FREE.
Happy crafting, and have a terrific week!!!
