Following After Peace with Word Art Wednesday

In Romans 14:19, Scripture admonishes us to, "Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another." Such a simple command, but one that, for us humans, can be so difficult to fulfill! As humans, we are naturally competitive, and there is an instinctive drive inside us to put our own needs and even our own ways above those of others. What a blessing, then, that as spiritual beings, and with God's grace, we have the power to overcome that. Moreover, when we pursue ways of being and doing that prioritize the needs of others before our own, things that make for peace and build up others, the process builds us up, too! When you care for others, they care for you, and when you put positive out, you get positive back. How cool is that?!?

This Scripture verse is the free word art by Karen Murray this week at Word Art Wednesday, where we are blessed to be sponsoring. As always, the theme there is to make something using a Scripture verse or encouraging sentiment. A couple of our designers were inspired to use the offered verse in their cards this week. Have a look, and don't forget to hop over to Word Art Wednesday and snag this beautiful word art for yourself!

Got Milk?

I love those "Got Milk" commercials....and I love cows!  Ok, I admit that I have a thing about animals - they are all so cute...everything from the cutest puppy and kitten that we have as pets to the farm and zoo animals (and of course all those who live in their natural habitats).  Cows are so cute - especially the cows in Cow Are You.  Ruth, our September Guest Designer, has made the cutest cow Birthday card:

Isn't this just darling??!!  Be sure to visit Ruth at Tip Top Toppers Things to learn more about her card and also to leave her some love.

Come back next week as Ruth will be sharing a bit of Christmas Cheer with us.

Last DOM Reminder for September!

Well here it is -- your last reminder and batch of inspiration from our team for the September Digi of the Month Challenge!  The challenge ends this Sunday evening at 11:55 Pacific Time, so if you haven't made or linked up your creation yet, don't delay!

Our September Guest Designer, Ruth of "Tip Top Toppers Things",  kindly made this gorgeous sample to inspire us this month. As you can see, she made the "Autumn To-Do List" sentiment from this month's featured set -- "Leaf Your Cares Behind" -- the centerpiece of the card. She enlarged some of the leaves, and meticulously fussy cut and applied them. She also added the little pencil image from the "High School Daze" set. The twine and the faux stitching really finish this Autumn card off so well, don't you think?

I was thankful to get a smidge of time to play along this month, too. Most months that doesn't happen -- ha ha! I really wanted to use the elephant playing in the leaves to make a card to let a friend know that I'm praying for them. Hopefully this will cheer her!

Ruth and I came up with such different cards using the same set. That is one of the wonderful thing about digis, and really paper-crafting in general -- you can make so many different things with one simple set, depending on where your imagination takes you! Where will your imagination take you this month? Someplace fun, we hope! :-)
