"Pick Your Pal" World Card Making Day Challenge!

Happy World Card Making Day ("WCMD")!!! Today is a day set aside worldwide to celebrate our craft. Naturally we couldn't let it pass us by without a special event to celebrate! So here's what we've got for you today: "Pick Your Pal" Tic-Tac-Toe!

As you can see, we've created a fun game board for you. (Click on it to enlarge it if you need to!) How do you play? Easy-peasy!

1. Choose a row on the Tic-Tac-Toe board, make a card using one of our digis that matches that row, share it on your blog or public gallery, and then link it up to our WCMD challenge post using the linky tool below. No back-linking please. You must create a new card for this challenge.
2. Each numbered row on the Tic-Tac-Toe card coordinates to a "Pal" digi that you will receive as a prize for completing that row. There are a total of eight "Pal" digis that you can win, including four from our "Pumpkin Pals" set...

...and four from our brand new, not-yet-in-the-shop "Stocking Pals" set!

3. When you link up your card, please state which row number you followed to create it, and verify that your email address is 100% correct in the link-up so that Deedee can email you your prize!
4. You may participate multiple times to get multiple digis. Each entry must be linked separately, even if you include them in a single blog or gallery post.
5. If you complete the whole Tic-Tac-Toe card ("Blackout") via one card OR by completing three cards representing either all three vertical rows or all three horizontal rows, you will receive both full sets including the additional elements shown in the photos above!
6. In addition to the "Pal" digi prizes shown above, we will also have TWO additional prize drawings at the end of the challenge:
  • One entrant will win a spot as our Guest Designer here on the blog for the month of November! Now, we know that some of you would not be interested in this, so to make sure that we're only drawing from those who are, please, if you are interested in entering this drawing, remember to put "GDT" next to your name in your link-up(s).
  • We will draw for a number between "1" and "8". Everyone who entered a card for that number of row on the Tic-Tac-Toe card will win a $10 gift code to the shop! AND...those who achieved a "Blackout" on the board will automatically get a gift code!
7. DEADLINE: You have until Friday, 16 October, 2015 to complete this challenge. Drawing winners will be announced here on Saturday, 17 October, 2015.

Need a little inspiration to get you started? Here's a little from our team!

2 Fun Challenges to Try Today

Happy Friday! Today we are sponsoring two fun challenges that we wanted to share with you.

Over at Chocolate, Coffee & Cards, the theme this time around is "Animals." We've certainly got plenty of those among our digi sets for you to choose from! Marji used frames and papers from the "Merry Christmas" kit, along with the sweet birdie from the "Christmas Cardinal" digi set to make this gorgeous, matching gift set. Don't you just love that fancy bow on her card? Which animal will you use on yours?

The ladies at Creative Artiste would love to see you use "lace and pearls" on your projects. Didn't Tamara combine these so beautifully? The sentiment that she used is from the "Winter Woods" set. This is a fabulous example of how cards do not have to be image-focused to be beautiful and meaningful!

Ok, so that's it for today, but just a quick reminder to stop by tomorrow for our World Card Making Day event! We'll have a very fun challenge to share with you along with many opportunities to win prizes. You won't want to miss out!!!!

Show Us Your Autumn Colors!

The calendar clicked over to October this morning -- my favorite month of the year -- woo-hoo! We are definitely in Autumn, now, without a doubt! Speaking of Autumn, the ladies over at Creative Moments want to see your Autumn colors this week. Autumn colors are so magnificent, especially if you are blessed to live in a part of the world where the leaves of the trees change colors!

For my sample for you today, I used the new "Autumn Harvest" digi set. I broke out the clear embossing powder to try an old favorite technique -- "Cracked Glass." There is a great tutorial for this over on Splitcoast Stampers. Alternately, if you prefer a video walk-through, here is a wonderful video tutorial on YouTube. This is honestly such an easy technique to do, and you'll love the results if you give it a try! I backed the finished image with digital paper from the "Leave Me Smiling" digi set. This houndstooth print is just one of four Autumn-colored papers available in that set for your Autumn-crafting delight! :-)

So, show us your Autumn colors this week, and don't forget to link them up over at Creative Moments for a chance to win some digis!

Stringing Up The Lights

Christmas is right around the corner.  Yeah, I know that it's just the middle of Fall but before you know it Christmas will be here.  Admit it - you've already seen signs of it in the stores.  And you have been thinking about the decorations and the shopping...it's never to early!  LOL!!

Ruth, our September Guest Designer, used Merry & Bright this week for her card....She certainly is in a Festive state of mind!  Visit her at Tip Top Toppers Things to learn more about her and her card:

Be sure to visit Ruth at her blog....you won't be disappointed!  She shared a bit more about her style and card making:

Promarkers, die cuts and ribbon are probably the three items I go for although glitter glue, glossy accents and half pearls are not far behind!  I usually create clean and simple cards although I do enjoy up-cycling and recycling non papercraft projects.  I don't think I have a particular style - I create what ever happens - sometimes things come together really quickly and other times I take days or weeks (depending on deadlines!) to mull it over and think about what I'm going to make.

We want to take a minute and thank Ruth for being our September Guest Designer.  She has certainly inspired me and I hope you as well!!!!  Be sure to come back next week as we introduce our October Guest Designer...you won't want to miss it!!!
