Country Christmas Pop-Up (3-D Saturday)

Happy Saturday! We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and that you didn't eat too much or tire yourself out too much with all of the great 'Black Friday' sales! The Christmas season has now officially begun, and to get us started, designer Melissa Craig has created an extra special Christmas card for our '3-D Saturday' share.

At first peek this card is totally adorable -- a sweet snowman wishing you a warm Christmas. Set against the vintage paper pattern, this evokes the clean elegance of snow and the woods in winter -- everything you need in a Christmas card to send your loved ones good wishes. But then you open it up, and...

...wow! A whole warm and wonderful Christmas scene! The fireplace and mantel pop up when you open the card. Melissa decorated it with a swathe of evergreen garland and Christmas candles. She even colored a warm glow behind the candles -- how sweet is that? The stockings are, naturally, hung with care above that beautiful fire. The greeting is cut from the same vintage-y, woodsy paper that was used on the front of the card. When I look at this scene, all I can think is what a happy surprise this will be for the recipient.

To make this special card, Melissa used the snowman, candle, and stocking images, along with a sentiment, from our "Country Christmas" digi set. This is one of our older sets, so it's especially fun to see a fresh take on using it. That just goes to show that digis never go out of style, just like loving, handcrafted Christmas greetings! :-)

Sketchy Inspiration with Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

This time of year, when the crunch is on to get those holiday cards made, it is always helpful, I think, to have a little extra inspiration. Sketches are especially helpful for that! The ladies over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 have a great sketch on hand to help you out this week. Stop over and take a peek. If you use the sketch, be sure to link up over there for a chance to win some of our digis!

Faith created today's lovely sample to inspire you. She used elements from the "Polar Peace" set along with digital papers from the "Blue Christmas Kit." She did such a beautiful job coloring and shading the image -- one can practically feel the ice! The little pop of color from the yellow star is so fun! Don't you just love how she angled the "Merry Christmas" sentiment to fit on the star? So clever! :-)

Getting Ready for Christmas!

With less than a month now to go, it is now officially OK to start getting ready for Christmas! That is what the ladies over at the Crafting by Designs challenge blog are doing this week. How about you? If you, too, are paper-crafting in preparation for Christmas, be sure to link up your projects over at Crafting by Designs for a chance to win some digis!

Today's glorious cards by some of our Design Team members were definitely made in preparation for Christmas, and we hope that they will inspire you as you begin -- or continue -- your own Christmas preparations today. I have to say, I love all of the projects that our Design Team makes, and I get so excited about sharing them with you, but there is just something extra special about their Christmas cards, and all the tiny little details that they put into them are just exquisite! And rightly so -- the birth of our Saviour was an event -- and a gift -- like no other, and I love seeing how our teamies celebrate this in their crafting. I hope you, do, too. :-)

Celebrating with Through the Craft Room Door!

The team at Through the Craft Room Door is celebrating their one-year anniversary, and throwing a blog hop along with many prizes to celebrate! How fun!!! We're very excited to be part of their celebration, among many other sponsors. Through the Craft Room Door is both a challenge blog, where the theme is always "anything goes," but it is also a wonderful digital magazine. Many paper crafters, including some from our own team, have been featured there, and it is a great source of inspiration. Be sure to stop over and take part in the festivities. You could win one of several prizes, and I guarantee the inspiration alone will make it worth your time!

Speaking of inspiration, here's a bit of birthday festivity to inspire you. Aren't these so much fun?!?

For What Are You Thankful?

It's Thanksgiving week here in the USA, and the ladies over at the Outlawz CAS challenge, where we are sponsoring, want to see what you are thankful for...in a "clean and simple" way, of course!  A card of thankful Scripture praise...a thank you card for somebody who has done you a good turn...a scrapbook page of a memory for which you are thankful...any of these or any other way that you can think to craft what you are thankful for, in a clean and simple way, is welcome, and could win you some digis.

Here's how our teamie Kren Kurts interpreted this challenge. Green cardstock that she dry-embossed with thanksgiving words provide a sweet base for her quilty pumpkin (from the "Stitchy Fall" digi set). She added a little yellow bow for a pop of color,  a button, and voila -- a clean and simple but totally adorable card of thanks!

Teamie Donna Rinckel used the "Otterly Thankful" set to design her adorable thank-you card. The layout is classically clean and so pretty with the different papers she used. The sand-colored dry-embossed piece in the lower area of the card really makes the colors in the otter image pop. So darling!

So...how will you craft your thanks this week? We'd love to see! :-)
